Ewa Beach Eviction Complete, Happy New Homeowners

What a start to the 2016 new year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I want to briefly discuss one of our projects this past year that just finished on 12/31 – right up until the last day of the year.

In the spring of 2015 our team negotiated a successful short sale for a homeowner in Ewa Beach. She owned a four-bedroom single family house just off Fort Weaver Road in the neighborhood behind Burger King but had hit hard times and ended up upside down with her mortgage. She was thrilled because she was able to sell her house while avoiding a foreclosure!

While that worked out very well for her, trouble was brewing around the corner from us. Soon after we purchased the house, squatters unknowingly forced their way inside and decided it was now their home. Ugh. Even though we purchased the house legally via a title and escrow company as we always do and had the deed recorded by the Bureau of Conveyances, the squatters still made life a bit difficult. They produced a phony lease and and forced us to go through the courts.

And that’s exactly what we did. Everything we do is above board and we hired our own attorney and proceeded to legally evict the squatters. Once they were out, we got to work immediately renovating the property to beautiful condition.

Coincidentally enough, we put a sign out front “Oahu Home Buyers 808-377-4379” and immediately got a call from a very interested family looking for a home in the area. We got them lined up to buy the house before we were even complete with the renovations! We then handed them off to our broker — at no charge to the new buyers — to coordinate the transaction.

At the end of the day, on 12/31 just last week before the calendar turned, the homeowners moved into their beautiful new Ewa Beach home. 🙂
